Relix Nusantara signs deal that is ‘crucial’ to its future

Share

One of Indonesia’s top suppliers of fishing tackle has entered into a two-way collaboration that will herald the expansion of a major new rod series and an international distribution agreement.

PT Central Sarana Pancing, owner of the Relix Nusantara rod brand, has agreed to work closely on the development of a new rod series with Chinese-based rod components supplier Sea Guide. As part of the evolving partnership, Relix will act as distributor of the Weihai company’s products in Indonesia.

This will not only cover guides, but reel seats and carbon tubes. PT Central Sarana Pancing owner Rivai Susanto explained: “The initial distribution strategy will target rod builders and individual anglers needing spare parts, such as replacement guides.

“Sea Guide brings a reputation for quality and consistency to the partnership. As an official partner, Relix Nusantara will benefit from priority and reliable delivery times, competitive pricing and technical know-how – especially in matching guides to specific rod blanks for optimal performance.”

Relix Nusantara and Sea Guide have worked together for seven years with guides being installed on Relix’s best-selling Capung casting rod series. “Since then, the rods have achieved widespread popularity, recording virtually no customer complaints. This track record of reliability and performance laid the foundation for today’s deeper collaboration,” said Susanto.

The two companies will work together on four new models:

  • Gasak and Ibliz casting rods
  • Pessut pond models
  • Pasir Selatan surfcasters

“Relix Nusantara recognises that a rod blank, reel seat and guide are critical elements defining its quality. During our two visits to the Weihai factory we engaged in discussions and practical sessions with the Sea Guide specialists,” said Susanto.

“These experiences offered us a comprehensive understanding of the variety and technical nuances of guide knowledge that will directly influence our new rod designs.”

Susanto described its agreement with Sea Guide as crucial to the future of Relix Nusantara with the potential to significantly increase its revenue. “Several new rod series are currently under development, reflecting our commitment to innovation and excellence.

“Our vision – to offer both value and quality – will be further realised through this partnership with Sea Guide, combining proven components with local expertise and market knowledge.

“As the agreement progresses, Indonesian anglers can look forward to an expanded selection of high quality rods tailored for various fishing environments and backed by a robust supply of reliable components.”
