Big carp event promises brands a route to European anglers

Share

Carp brands looking to connect with high spending anglers are being offered the opportunity to sponsor the biggest tournament of its kind in the world.

This year’s International Balaton Carp Cup (IBCC) on Lake Balaton in Hungary attracted 300 teams of three from nearly 30 countries, giving sponsors a unique opportunity to promote their brand at a top international tournament to the crème de la crème of the world’s carp fishing community and its hundreds of thousands of engaged followers.

Viktor Pásztor, a member of the IBCC organising team, told Angling International: “The IBCC is the world’s largest carp fishing competition with hundreds of thousands of people following the event online and through the media. It offers exceptional promotional opportunities, attracting major industry sponsors like Trakker, Mikado and Jet Fish who use the platform to showcase their products.

“The competition features live television broadcasts in five countries – the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria – and global online streaming, providing unparalleled visibility. With its extensive media coverage and diverse audience of professionals and enthusiasts, sponsoring the IBCC allows companies to engage with a dedicated community, enhance credibility and reach a highly targeted global market.

“We welcome all supporters who see the opportunity to showcase their brand at one of the world’s largest fishing competitions. While we offer ten sector sponsorships as well as title and other options, we are open to partnerships with companies that value the extensive visibility provided by live broadcasts in five countries, global online streaming and engagement with a passionate, worldwide audience.”

Long-term supporters of the IBCC include Trakker, Mikado, Nikl, MEUS, Adventer & Fishing and Mikbaits. “Their contributions have significantly enhanced the event’s success and visibility in the carp fishing community,” adds Pásztor.

Pásztor added that one of the most attractive elements of the sponsorship package is having a promotional film aired up to 40 times on the Fishing & Hunting TV channel. “This has proved to be immensely popular as the channel reaches millions of viewers in five countries, offering sponsors a powerful way to deliver their message to a wide and engaged audience.”

The main sponsorship available is for the ten sections of the competition on the shoreline of Lake Balaton. Each one has its own sponsor after which it is named – for example, the Shimano Tribal Sector – and whenever something happens within it, it is referred to by name.

The logo of the sponsor’s brand appears in all IBCC publications – both on and offline. It is featured multiple times a day in match broadcasts, enjoying almost continuous visibility throughout the IBCC communication process.

The companies also receive entrance into the competition – valued at €2,000. Additionally, they get a 24-minute film on Fishing & Hunting TV where they can promote their brand and products in the year following the competition. The film, which would normally cost €4,000, is also included in the package.

“As the pinnacle of carp fishing competitions – equivalent to what Formula One represents for motorsport – being involved in the event elevates a brand’s position within the industry. The event is followed live and – starting with the next competition – a 24/7 online stream will allow fans from anywhere in the world to watch live. Sponsors will gain prominent visibility in these broadcasts and across all platforms.”
