On the eve of its 40th anniversary Quantum surprised fans with its decision to concentrate solely on the saltwater market in the future.
And last month the new look brand announced that its first new entrants into the market – the Strive series of rods, reels and combos – have hit the shelves of retailers across the US.

In a video announcing its return to its saltwater roots, Ken Eubanks (above), CEO of Quantum’s parent company, Rather Outdoors, outlined for the first time Quantum’s transformation. “This journey has been going on for nearly three years now. The saltwater space is a very difficult industry and market to get into. We have made various attempts over the years to give consumers want they want and to penetrate this space.
“The Quantum launch has given us the opportunity be very focused on our anglers and products. We recognise the barriers that exist and the difficulty in getting consumers to try our products.

“What we believe and are pushing toward is developing, building and delivering innovative products that will meet the needs of the consumer – products that will stand the test of time and give something exciting to the consumer that they do not have today.
“We have put together a world class team of developers, engineers and product testers – what we believe to be the best team in the industry.”
