Strong quality hooks built to exacting Japanese production standards from an unlikely source were introduced for the first time ever on the global stage at Angling International LIVE.
The source location of the hooks is Egypt and according to Dr Ahmed Sedan (below), owner of Egyptian Fishing Tackle (EFT), reaction at the show justified six years of hard work in building the most up-to-date manufacturing facilities of their kind in Egypt and the Middle East.
He told Angling International: “It was incredibly satisfying to be able to demonstrate to visitors the Japanese quality of our products.”
EFT was established in 2019 on a mission to produce high quality own brand and OEM sports and commercial fishing hooks from its own factories. “I was very pleased with the reaction of visitors and made contact with over 20 businesses. I am also very happy because our main focus is OEM and most exhibitors at the show were potential clients for me.”
He added that EFT arrived in Budapest for the show with a three-prolonged business plan:
- Introduce the brand and its OEM potential to the European market
- Talk to clients and land deals
- Use the show as a fact-finding mission
“It is fair to say a lot of visitors were amazed to find out about us. They knew nothing about the business or the products we made – and they were very impressed with the quality of our goods.”
Sedan added that another advantage that received a favourable reaction is the fact that EFT is also able to offer faster shipping than from China with lower costs, no custom duty on goods from Egypt and a ready supply of a wide range of products.
