New sales agency: ‘You can’t do business the same as in the past’

Two of the strongest outdoor sales and marketing groups in the US have come together to form a new rep business to serve fishing, marine, hunting and other related categories.

The joint venture between Ferguson-Keller (Midwest) and Rogers Sports Marketing (Southeast) sees the launch of Gen 3 Outdoors in 12 Northeastern states.

The new group takes its name from the fact that each company has three generations of outdoor sports sales representation and marketing experience, dating back to 1950.

“But we realise that there is a new generation of outdoor consumers whose purchasing patterns have changed,” said Trent Rogers (pictured). “Even though members of the outdoor community respect our traditions, to be successful at selling outdoor products today  you simply cannot do business the same way as in the past.”

Sean Kunzer of Ferguson-Keller added: “The staff at Gen 3 has a vast knowledge of the digital world and how to leverage it to help our business partners.”

Gen 3 has four representatives in these 12 states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington D.C.

Managing partners Kunzer and Rogers have also formed a new management team comprising Allen Pace (Fall Lines Manager), Scott Dubiel, (Spring Lines Manager) and Chris Shoplock (Northeast Territory Manager).
