SIMMS Fishing Products owner predicts tough year ahead

Revelyst, the outdoor segment of Vista Outdoors that includes SIMMS Fishing Products, said that it anticipates another tough year ahead as it reported its fourth quarter results.
While the segment grew organically for the first time in nine quarters, Revelyst projects an approximate 2.3% decline in sales to around $1.3 billion for the year ended March 2025.
The guidance assumes little change in consumer purchasing patterns because of economic uncertainty and challenges, as well as low orders from retailers.
Revelyst sales fell 2.2% to $1.3 billion for the year ended March 2024 (organic sales dropping 10.7%), with lower volume and increased discounting among the causes. The fourth quarter saw sales improve 1.4% to $332 million.
Eric Nyman, CEO of Revelyst, highlighted SIMMS winning eight awards at the 2024 Fly Fishing Show, more than any other brand.
“While in the short term we do not expect consumers to meaningfully change purchasing patterns due to macro-economic uncertainties, we are confident that Revelyst’s operational and organisational improvements will positively impact profitability in both the short and long term,” he said.
Nyman added that Revelyst’s transformation strategy is expected to deliver $25 million to $30 million of cost savings in the financial year of 2025.
