Angling Direct looking for Store Manager and Sales Advisors for first store in Europe

Angling Direct – the UK’s largest fishing tackle retailer – is looking for staff to work at its first-ever store on mainland Europe.

The company is hiring a Store Manager and Sales Advisors to work at its Utrecht retail outlet in the Netherlands, which is set to open in the coming months.

STORE MANAGER – The Role

An exciting opportunity for a motivated, driven individual to be an integral part of opening Angling Direct’s first store in Holland, located in Utrecht.

This is a unique opportunity for someone to build their own team and culture as well as scale world class operations in line with the business growth path.

Angling Direct is looking for a results-driven Store Manager with the passion for driving sales through outstanding customer experience and engagement and to be responsible for the overall store management. The successful candidate will be able to enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals and manage colleagues effectively. He will serve as the Angling Direct representative in its new store by embracing the company’s culture, values and purpose and engaging our European colleagues in getting everyone fishing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership and delivery of all store KPIs.
  • Develop business strategies to raise Angling Direct’s customer pool, expand store traffic and optimise profitability.
  • Meet sales targets by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to staff.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.
  • Complete store administration and banking ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain outstanding store and visual merchandising standards.
  • Report, monitor and act on buying trends, customer needs and opportunities.
  • Conduct personnel performance appraisals to inspire great performance, assess training needs and build career paths.
  • Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc).
  • Reviewing sales and stock targets including core stock ranges.
  • Liaise with Marketing to provide support for the smooth implementation and maintenance of the marketing strategy.
  • Organising working rotas and holidays.
  • Additional store manager duties as required.

SALES ADVISORS – The Role

Angling Direct’s Sales Advisors are confident communicators, with excellent selling skills and outstanding product knowledge. The store sales team are responsible for providing product information and advice to customers who visit the store with enthusiasm and professionalism.

Therefore, the company is looking for results-driven individuals with a passion for all things fishing related, with an ability for driving sales through outstanding customer experience and engagement. They will serve as Angling Direct representatives in the new store in Utrecht by embracing Angling Direct’s culture, values and purpose in getting everyone fishing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arranging and displaying merchandise, ensuring all areas are well stocked.
  • Greeting and approaching customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Offering customers advice on products with the intention of driving sales and upselling.
  • Monitor shelves inventory and stock shelves with new products as necessary.
  • Maintain stock accuracy by completing relevant stock checks.
  • Assist with deliveries and booking goods in.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly environment.
  • Operate till systems and close daily revenues.
  • Go the ‘extra mile’ to exceed targets.
  • Additional store sales advisor duties as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Passionate angler with solid fishing product knowledge.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Driven individual keen to meet targets and objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Both English and Dutch).
  • Strong organisation skills.
  • Business administration.
  • Three years’ experience in a retail environment.
  • Proven capability as a driven and results orientated individual.
  • Experienced, passionate angler with fishing product knowledge.
  • Health and safety knowledge.
