Al’s Goldfish Lures is relocated to new owner’s home after acquisition

Share

Finn Rage Tackle has moved Al’s Goldfish Lures to its own headquarters in Green Bay, Wisconsin, six months after acquiring the 70-year-old company.

Paul Check, owner of Finn Rage, said the relocation would help expansion into the Midwest and make it easier to develop the next phase for the brand.

“At the same time we will remain true to the company’s north-eastern roots,” added Check. “Al’s Goldfish Lures are famous for being deadly throughout America and the world and our goal is to increase their effectiveness.”

Check said his plans included the development of new colours in the current Goldfish, 49er and Helgy product lines, create new products for ice fishermen and develop new size ranges across the board to make the product line more effective for a wide variety of techniques.

He intends to introduce more sizes into the range for Midwest species such as walleye, northern pike and musky, along with more saltwater baits.

Al’s Goldfish will be at the Wisconsin Fishing Expo at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison from February 23rd to 25th. Al’s Goldfish was launched in 1952 with a single spoon known at Stuart’s Goldfish, named after founder Al Stuart.

Prior to its acquisition, the company was owned by Jeff and Mandy DeBuigne and did most of its sales in the North-East.
