French retail chain warns of fake Pacific Pêche website

France’s largest fishing tackle supplier, Pacific Pêche, has warned anglers of the existence of a fake website purporting to belong to it that is scamming customers.
“This site is entirely fraudulent,” said Pacific Pêche on its website and Facebook page. “It is very similar in design to ours, and uses our logo, visuals and products with the aim of defrauding our customers.
“This site is in no way affiliated with our company and we warn you not to use it. A Facebook page and TikTok account with advertisements direct customers to the fake site (www.pacificpeche.shop).
“Of course, the orders never arrive. The only trusted site is www.pacificpeche.com.”
It added that the safety and protection of the personal information of its customers are of the ‘utmost importance’ to the company. “Our IT and digital teams are doing their best to ensure that your purchases on our website can be done safely and have reported the fraudulent activities of these sites, pages and Facebook ads to the authorities.
“We thank the customers who spread the information in our stores and social networks and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by this scam.”
