BCF head appointed to lead Australia’s Super Retail Group

The current head of the Australia’s leading supplier of fishing tackle has been appointed to lead its parent company, the Super Retail Group (SRG).

Paul Bradshaw (pictured), currently Managing Director of BCF (Boating,Camping,Fishing) will take over of as Group Managing Director and CEO from November 1. He succeeds Anthony Heraghty who was sacked earlier this month following a work affair.

Bradshaw brings more than 30 years of retail experience across Australia and the UK. Since joining in 2019, he has led the transformation of BCF into a clear category leader, delivering strong operational and financial performance, says the group.

In conjunction with the appointment, BCF’s current GM Retail Operations, Michael Wassman, has been appointed to take over from Bradshaw,

SRG Board Chair, Judith Swales, said: “We are pleased to appoint Paul. He has an exceptional understanding of retail, leads with a clear focus on the customer and is highly regarded by his team and peers.

“He has consistently demonstrated strategic clarity, commercial discipline and strong results. Under his leadership, BCF has grown 85% and profit before tax has increased almost three-fold.

“We congratulate Michael Wassman on his appointment to lead BCF. He has been a highly respected member of the BCF team for nearly 20 years, with a deep understanding of retail operations, strategy and merchandising.”

Bradshaw added: “It is a privilege to lead a business I know so well and believe in so deeply. I am proud of what we have achieved as a team and excited about the opportunity to lead Super Retail Group through its next chapter.

“My focus will remain on delivering value for our customers, supporting our team and advancing our culture and driving sustainable returns for shareholders.”
