Sasa export sales continue to grow after early year surge

Share

Italian tackle supplier Scorziello Sasa is continuing to see export sales increase after reporting a 52% surge in the first three months of 2024.

The company says that its flagship Jatsui lure brand and others in its selection of baits are growing and generating a hype across Europe.

The company will be bidding to increase its line-up of partners across Europe at September’s Angling International LIVE in Budapest. The show provides the chance for us to promote our proposition and continue the growth that we have seen over the last year, especially with our Jatsui brand,” said Armando Zito, Sasa Import and Export Manager.

After enjoying good success in its domestic market, the company has embarked on an export push with its products being well received in Greece and Spain, while its new distributor in France is also reporting strong sales.

The growing list of export markets also includes Portugal, Tunisia, Libya, Belgium and Croatia, and Sasa is now working to open up business with another new country, Algeria. The manufacturer’s strategy to cover all of the countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea will be completed once business is established in Egypt.

Sasa is also receiving enquiries from B2B operators in different countries interested in its range and is always open to discussing matters of common interest with potential new partners.

Sasa has grown its export business 52% in the first three months of 2024 compared with 2023. This very positive trend resulted in the company improving its logistic service by adding more couriers as part of a dedicated strategy to provide quality, fast service and good business offers.

Sasa’s secrets for success?

Scorziello Sasa is an SME made up of young people focused on lure design, new developments and new fishing styles. In June Sasa launched its squid jig selection. “With Jatsui we are very focused on lure design, especially for squid jigs, and this year we are concentrating more and more in this field,” said Zito. “The work we are doing now will allow us to arrive at the Angling International Live show later this year with a very good selection of new entries, a new catalogue, and new gear.”

Why being an Industry 4.0 certified company matters

Sasa received the certification in 2020 after it combined the standard internet with IOT (internet of things). This means that the company’s partners, through access to a dedicated B2B order platform, can select products, be updated live on availability, check and make comparisons and then send their orders to arrive directly in the WMS: Warehouse Management System.

“WMS is connected and in constant communication with four mechanical columns, the core of the automatised warehouse, and to all the shelves in our warehouse,” explained Zito. “All this helps the operator to prepare the orders by organising what, when and how products wanted by our partners are picked. This reduces the number of human errors in the supply chain to almost nil, making the process much faster.”

In peak times, Sasa products can be picked and ready in the delivery area within 48 hours. Under normal circumstances, orders can be shipped on the same day they are received.

Growth brings change

Sasa’s headquarter in Battipaglia, in the Salerno area, is about 80km from Naples’ Capodichino Airport, but another big opportunity opened up last month with the opening of the new Salerno Airport, only 8km from Battipaglia. In addition, the company has completely updated its showroom to include a multi-function room, meeting place and a fishing simulator so all the products can be tested live. There is also a web streaming room which can also be used as a conference room.

“This new facility is perfect for receiving partners and friends of the company who want face-to-face meetings and want to touch our new products and to plan future business while enjoying the hospitality of the south of Italy,” said Zito. “Please accept our invitation to come and visit us.”
