Different boiled or fermented seeds like tigernuts are essential groundbaits for both feeder and carp anglers alike.
Take a closer look at the tigernut range from Hungarian bait supplier Energofish and it becomes clear why these baits are among the favourites of anglers to use on the hook. The company’s Bence Szabo says: “Every item in the range consists of properly boiled selected grains that guarantee the best chance of success for those who select them.
“Tigernut is a seed that has a particularly valuable content. It is rich in calcium, iron, magnesium and last – but not least – Vitamins C and E. Carp and grasscarp love to crunch these sweet seeds so it is recommended that retailers keep a wide range of tigernuts in their tackle shops. They are a ‘must-have’.”
The Carp Expert brand from Energofish has two main types of boiled tigernut in both normal and lactic form in 800g packages alongside strongly flavoured soaked and boiled versions that come in bottles. The first is ideal for feeding, while the latter can be used as a great hookbait.
Benzar Mix – the feeder-orientated Energofish brand – also offers many alternatives for those who prefer using tigernuts. In its assortment are bottled versions with extraordinary qualities. “They are properly boiled seeds that are easy to use with a boilie drill and have a strong colour which makes them spectacular to both fish and anglers. They even catch the eye of experts.”
And finally there is a fishing industry first – the Benzar Mix TigAir Nut hookbait. This is a floating tigernut that has everything to make it a popular hookbait, and also all the ingredients that modern wafters and pop-ups have. This includes 100% natural ingredients, strong buoyancy, conspicuous colours and intensive flavours.
“This modern, natural pop-up allows anglers to release normal tigernuts under the hook or use it with a proper-sized hook to embody the most ideal bait presentation you can imagine.”
