French coarse fishing show fills cancellations void

Share

The cancellations of the GIFAP and Clermont-Ferrand shows has left a large gap in the French fishing exhibition scene.

The organiser of SIPAC (the International Show of Coarse Fishing) – France’s national freshwater fishing show – believes that its event is well positioned to fill this void, attracting exhibitors and visitors who previously attended these shows. This shift consolidates SIPAC’s status as the primary platform for coarse fishing in France.

Now entering its fourth year, SIPAC has firmly established itself as the only trade show in France dedicated exclusively to coarse fishing techniques.

Nicolas Béroud, Editor in Chief of Info Pêche, organiser of SIPAC, told Angling International that since its inception in 2018, the event has become a cornerstone for the industry, providing a vital meeting point for professionals and enthusiasts alike. Organisers anticipate a landmark achievement this year, with expectations for paid admissions to exceed 10,000—a clear indicator of its growing influence.

The show, which takes place on November 7 and 8 in Amiens – dubbed as France’s capital of coarse fishing – is renowned both as a sales-driven event and a showcase for the latest innovations in coarse fishing. Visitors flock to the show not only to discover new products but also to learn from themed conferences and enjoy activities tailored for younger audiences. The event offers hands-on experiences, expert discussions and interactive workshops designed to inspire the next generation of anglers.

The show has seen impressive exhibitor growth, with 72 registered participants for this edition – up from previous years. To accommodate this surge, SIPAC has moved into a larger exhibition hall, ensuring ample space for product displays, demonstrations and networking. “This expansion reflects the increasing interest and investment in coarse fishing across France and Europe,” said Béroud.

Leading the roster are major French names such as Sensas, Garbolino and Maver, alongside international giants like Daiwa and Preston Innovations. Retailers, including Decathlon and specialist craftsmen from across the continent, bring diversity to the exhibitors, with tackle makers, bait suppliers and custom rod builders all represented. This mix offers visitors access to a broad spectrum of expertise and products.

For newcomers, SIPAC presents a unique platform to enter the market, connect with retailers and gain insights from established players. The show’s inclusive atmosphere and strong attendance provide valuable exposure, making it an attractive option for both start-ups and established brands looking to expand their reach.

Among the event’s unique features, the All Star Game competition (above) stands out. This live tournament brings together the top coarse anglers for a thrilling contest, drawing crowds and media attention. Additional highlights include product launches, live demonstrations and youth engagement activities, ensuring there’s something for every visitor.

“SIPAC is challenging outdated views of coarse fishing as old-fashioned. By embracing innovation and promoting youth engagement, the show highlights the sport’s modern appeal. Activities for younger audiences, interactive workshops and fresh product launches are helping to attract a new wave of anglers, ensuring the future of coarse fishing remains vibrant,” added Béroud.

“As SIPAC prepares to welcome record numbers, it continues to evolve, offering fresh opportunities for exhibitors and visitors. With its expanded hall, diverse exhibitor line-up, and commitment to innovation, the show is redefining the landscape of coarse fishing in France and Europe The future looks promising for both the event and the industry it serves.”
