Watch! Pulz Bait lands a huge catfish and opens up a new market

Share

With the appointment of one of Europe’s most respected catfish anglers, Yuri Grisendi, Pulz Bait has entered the European catfish segment.

The collaboration marks a strategic expansion into one of the fastest-growing and most technically driven predator fishing categories in Europe by the Nordic Fieldsport brand. Grisendi is widely recognised within the European catfish scene, combining more than 200 fishing days per year with decades of experience in targeting large predatory freshwater species. Beyond his presence on the water, he connects with approximately three million followers across social platforms, generating tens of millions of monthly views worldwide.

For Pulz Bait, this partnership is not about visibility alone – it is about credibility, field testing and long-term development within a specialist segment. Nordic’s Nils Folmer Jørgensen told Angling International: “The European catfish market has evolved rapidly over the past decade. It is driven by committed anglers who demand innovation, durability and measurable performance. Catfish rely heavily on vibration and lateral line sensitivity. Pulz Bait’s patented internal pulse and movement system, originally developed to trigger instinctive reactions in predator fish, naturally aligns with these biological trigger factors. Consistent micro-vibration, combined with lifelike swimming action, creates a strong underwater signal – particularly effective in low-visibility and pressured environments.”

Initial field sessions with dedicated catfish anglers, including Grisendi, have shown promising reaction rates – especially during slow presentations where controlled vibration is decisive. Video of Grisendi proving the power of Pulz Bait can be seen below.

Pulz Bait is currently working on refinements aimed specifically at the catfish segment, including:

  • Reinforced rigging configurations
  • Durability adjustments for heavy load conditions
  • Presentation adaptations for vertical and static techniques
  • Ongoing structured testing in major European river systems

“Entering the segment is therefore a development process – not just a category label,” explained Folmer Jørgensen, adding that Nordic Fieldsport sees the catfish sector as an opportunity. “Across Italy, Spain, France, Germany and Eastern Europe, catfish fishing continues to grow. The modern catfish angler is performance-oriented, digitally connected and willing to invest in innovation. From a brand perspective, the sector represents long-term potential built on credibility and technical progression.”

Says Grisendi: “Pulz Bait reflects innovation and precision – exactly what modern anglers need. I am proud to contribute to the development of the brand within the catfish segment. Pulz Bait’s ambition is not merely to participate in the catfish market, but to contribute to its technical evolution – combining innovation, real-world testing and authentic storytelling. This is only the beginning.”
