KastKing, the leader in smart technology reels, has delivered another technological advancement and a world’s first.
It has introduced the Al-Ti Elite – the world’s first bait casting reel with an aluminum frame and a titanium spool and shaft. Following in the wake of the Mg-Ti Elite, KastKing says the new Al-Ti Elite is designed to offer lightness and strength at an affordable price.
Al is the periodic element symbol for aluminum and Ti is the periodic element symbol for titanium. Both materials are known for their high strength and super lightweight properties. The titanium spool and shaft of the Al-Ti Elite weigh only 6.9g, requiring almost zero start-up inertia to get the spool spinning.
“This low start-up inertia allows the angler to cast lures down to 1.7g and up to 85g with the same reel,” said Eric Knickerbocker, KastKing US Business Leader.
The world-first titanium spool is 250% stronger than aluminum alloy and 350% harder, offering extreme strength and durability. It incorporates KastKing’s Halo Vortex Braking System (HVB) to virtually eliminate backlashes for better castability and longer casting distances. “A machined aluminum frame with carbon fibre side covers offers unparalleled strength and rigidity with very little flex,” adds Knickerbocker.
It also incorporates an UltraDura 90 pinion gear and an aerospace T6 aluminum main gear for unmatched performance cast after cast. Other performance features such as EZO high performance bearings ensure a super smooth performance.
“We continue to be the leader in creating industry firsts. Al-Ti has all of the ‘kitchen sink’ components, but with the same performance features as our Mg-Ti reel,” adds Knickerbocker. “You will again notice that the Al-Ti is built to handle the day-to-day stress of fighting big fish. Once again, not only did we build an amazingly light reel that can be fished all day long with very little fatigue, Al-Ti is a workhorse built to handle the rigours of even the most diehard fisherman, but at a more affordable price.”
With a gear ratio of 7.2:1, it has the perfect balance of finesse and quick retrieve speeds. The 9+2+1 ball bearings ensure super smooth performance. “Just like its big brother, the Mg-Ti, the Al-Ti has a total reel weight of only 156g for durability, but with a weight that allows all day fishing.
“Al-Ti is also a dream to fish with. Having fished this reel for hour after hour, I again experienced no fatigue at all,” says Knickerbocker.
“However, don’t let the lightweight aluminum frame fool you. The Al-Ti packs a whopping 18lb of maximum drag capacity, enough drag to stop most gamefish.”
