Salmo expands European presence through new German distributor

Share

The Salmo Group is expanding its presence in Europe through a strategic partnership with the German based company Saenger Top Tackle GmbH and its subsidiary, WESTLINE ANGELGERAETE GmbH.

This partnership represents an important step in Salmo’s long-term growth strategy, aimed at strengthening its position in European markets, expanding distribution capabilities and creating a solid foundation for sustainable growth across the fishing tackle industry.

The agreement brings together the experience and shared values of two family-owned companies built on professionalism, expertise and long-term vision. Through this partnership, Salmo gains direct access to key Central European markets, where Saenger Top Tackle GmbH has established a strong and well-developed sales and distribution network. At the same time, Salmo’s existing international presence creates new opportunities for Saenger to expand its brand portfolio and enter additional markets.

Saenger’s portfolio includes several highly respected brands, including UNICAT, specialising in catfish fishing, ANACONDA, a leading brand among carp fishing enthusiasts and AQUANTIC, offering a comprehensive range of sea fishing equipment. In addition, predator fishing brands such as IRON CLAW, DOIYO and S’ZUKI are widely recognized among anglers across Europe

Guntars Vaišļa, CEO of the Salmo Group, said: “Our approach is clear: to preserve the company’s strengths and family-business values while gradually expanding opportunities in digital channels and e-commerce.We see strong synergy potential, as the product portfolios of both companies complement each other with minimal overlap.”

“It is important to me that the company continues to develop on a stable foundation. The generational transition in management and Salmo’s involvement represent an important step in securing the long-term future of our company, our employees and our infrastructure – especially in today’s challenging economic environment,” said Hans Jurgen Sänger, long-time Managing Director of Saenger Top Tackle GmbH.

With more than 40 years of experience in the fishing tackle industry, Saenger has built well-established distribution channels across Germany, Austria and other European markets. The company has also expressed interest in representing Salmo Group’s leading brands, including NORFIN and LUCKY JOHN, within its distribution network.

Founded in 1988, the Salmo Group has built a strong international reputation over 38 years of serving customers through its retail network and long-standing distribution partnerships. This partnership with Saenger Top Tackle GmbH represents a significant milestone that will strengthen Salmo’s position in Europe and enable both companies to deliver greater value to customers and anglers through expanded product offerings and increased market reach.
