Nordic Fieldsport – the new owner of Myran Sweden, one of the country’s most iconic lure brands – has wasted no time in investing in its acquisition.
Myran Sweden, maker of some of the Scandinavia’s best known spinners, was the first brand acquired by Nordic Fieldsport on its launch last year and the company has already developed a rod range to complement its baits and launched its first-ever website.
Myran Sweden will be presenting its first rod series later this year which it says has been built with the same dedication to quality, simplicity and function that has defined the brand since 1950.
Nordic Fieldsport’s Nils Folmer Jørgensen told Angling International: “As Myran expands across Europe, introducing rods is a natural step. Our lures are among the most respected, but until now there has been no rod to truly match them.
“Rods and lures go hand-in-hand and with this launch, retailers can finally offer a complete Myran set-up – unified in performance, design and brand identity. During tests in Scandinavia, feedback from our partners has been extremely positive and pre-orders clearly show the strong market interest.”
All Myran rods are built on Japanese carbon blanks with carefully selected premium components. “The focus is on balance, reliability and broad use rather than over-complication,” said Jørgensen.

Eciton Finesse and Spin: Both series reflect Myran’s heritage of simplicity, quality and purpose – premium performance made accessible to all anglers. Smooth parabolic action (24T butt/30T tip) delivers all-round performance for small lakes to coastal fishing.

Myrmecia Trout: Inspired by Japanese aesthetics, each rod combines timeless beauty with modern precision. With its softer, more forgiving action and graceful feel, Myrmecia is made for anglers who value finesse, precision and classic design above all.
Up until now, Myran’s reputation was broadcast through word of mouth. Jørgensen said: “With the new website, we wanted to create a clear and inspiring platform that gives both loyal anglers and a new audience a complete overview of the brand’s range, craftsmanship and heritage.

“The website is also an important step in supporting our broader European expansion, introducing many anglers to Myran for the first time and to a truly Made in Sweden handcrafted spinner. Above all, it allows us to tell the Myran story properly and support retailers with a strong, consistent brand platform.”
Jørgensen added that with a new website and the introduction of rods, Myran now presents a complete and coherent brand offering to the European market. “For retailers and distributors, this means a stronger story at point of sale, a broader product range and a heritage brand ready to grow beyond Scandinavia.”
