PowerPro launches braid with ‘exciting’ new-age fibre

Made with what Shimano describes as an ‘exciting new-age fibre’ – Tenax – the PowerPro Tenacity boasts even higher abrasion resistance and greater tensile strength than any previous PowerPro braided line.
Each individual Tenax microfibre within the eight tightly woven strands are considerably thicker and more robust than those found in earlier three, four and five strand variants.

“This greatly enhances the abrasion resistance of the new braid, while also making it smoother, slicker and incredibly fine for its strength,” says Shimano.
“On top of this, the rated breaking strains printed on the spools are now much closer to the actual strength of the line, and lengths are listed in metres rather than yards, but are still offered at similar prices to the existing PowerPro lines, meaning anglers actually receive 9.3% more line for the same spend.”
Available in two colours – Electric Blue and Sight Orange – it is offered on spools of 150, 300 and 500 metres in rated strengths from 6lb to 80lb.
