Abu Garcia unleashes new Beast rods and reels

Pure Fishing brand Abu Garcia has unleashed the new Beast series of casting and spinning reels and purpose-built rods.

Beast reels are said to deliver smooth, high-capacity drag and cranking performance, while the rods feature specialised tapers and a robust two-piece design to handle the largest swimbaits and A-Rigs

The Beast Low-Profile (LP) casting reels are designed for maximum fish-stopping power while remaining easy to palm, providing a balanced, ergonomic design for long days on the water. Available in three sizes – 200, 300 and 400 – each reel features a durable X2-Cräftic aluminum frame, oversized double-bowed aluminum handle with power knobs and GullWing sideplates for added strength and stability.

The brake systems are tailored to each model, with the 200 using the IVCB-6 centrifugal brake and the 300 and 400 featuring the Magnetic & Centrifugal Hybrid Infini Brake System, giving anglers precise control in any situation.

The Beast series also features an oversized Brass Duragear gear system built for strength and cranking power: the 200 model uses the Gen II system, while the 300 and 400 models feature oversized Gen III gears – providing an increase in gear size of up to 21%, enhancing gear longevity, boosted cranking power and improved overall gear efficiency. The Beast spinning reels (SP) are purpose-built to deliver cranking power and stopping strength for anglers targeting large fish with big baits. Available in four sizes – 3000, 3500, 4000 and 5000 – each reel features an A-Symmetric body for a compact, ergonomic fit, durable X2-Cräftic one piece alloy frame, aluminum handle with oversized co-moulded soft touch knobs and salt shield bearings designed to prevent the accumulation of salt crystals and waterborne debris.

The Power Stack Carbon Matrix Drag System delivers consistent, extreme-pressure drag, while the Rocket Line Management and Rocket Spool Lip designs ensure precise line control and consistent casts across all conditions.

Each spinning reel is built to handle serious loads, with HPCR stainless steel bearings, reinforced main shafts and oversized Duragear Gen III gears (brass on the 5000H) for unmatched durability and power transfer.
