Shimano brand introduces award-winning ‘25%’ thinner braid

Share

Shimano line brand PowerPro introduced the Max-8 at ICAST and won plaudits and an award in the New Product Showcase for a braid that it claims is 25% thinner than comparable lines.

It is described as a new high-performance braided fishing line engineered for offshore anglers who demand smooth casting, superior control and rugged durability in demanding saltwater environments.

Built with an eight-carrier Spectra HT fibre, the Max-8 is said to slice effortlessly through water for ultra-precise vertical jigging, trolling and casting applications. At 25% thinner than comparable lines, Max-8 delivers increased line capacity without sacrificing the trusted strength for which PowerPro is known.

“Max-8 is a true performance upgrade for offshore anglers, especially those jigging in deep water,” said Tom Woldruff, PowerPro Business Development Manager. “The smoothness and control it delivers are next-level, and the thinner diameter means you can spool more line. It’s a line built for control, castability and confidence.”

Engineered with Enhanced Body Technology (EBT), it is infused with resin throughout every fibre to create a rounder, smoother profile. The result: enhanced castability, improved line management and excellent abrasion resistance, which are essential features for anglers pushing gear to its limits.
