Chance show meeting leads to major distribution deal

A chance meeting at an international tackle trade show has resulted in a major distribution deal for a top European tackle supplier and wholesaler.

Hungary’s Energofish has partnered with Lithuanian-based award-winning electronics brand Deeper following the get together at the 2023 Osaka Show in Japan.

It resulted in an agreement that will see Energofish responsible for sales in its homeland of Deeper’s sonars and the new Deeper Quest bait boat (below), which won the Electronics Device category at the first-ever Angling International LIVE show in Budapest last year.

Energofish Managing Director, Istvan Pal, told Angling International: “We are proud to be distributor of a brilliant product. I met Jaroslav Berezovski by chance at the Osaka Fishing Show in Japan in February 2023. We were all wearing masks and started chatting about the global situation and our expectations.

“Matters turned to each other’s businesses and the situation developed from there. It just shows what can be achieved at trade shows by meeting people in person!”

Pal added that he is delighted to add Deeper to its stable of partners with includes the recently added Relix-Nusantara range from Indonesian tackle supplier PT Central Sarana Pancing which was closed at the Angling International LIVE event.

“I have a lot of respect for people from the Baltic countries and am delighted to be selling a product that is proudly manufactured in Europe. Deeper has an amazing marketing and after sales service and we are working with pre-orders and inviting retailers to public and trade shows where they can see and buy at advantageous prices.”

He added that over 1,000 Deeper units have already been sold throughout Hungary of its carp fishing bait boat.
