A Greek fishing tackle supplier is returning to Angling International LIVE after its first appearance at Europe’s premier show last year had a huge impact on its business.
Theodore Ratzonis, owner of Global Fishing Solutions (GFS), told Angling International: “Our debut in Budapest was mind-blowing and if we had been more prepared we would have been able to achieve more. We were not 100% ready and some companies we met had to back down because we could not assist them with their demands for fast deliveries. If we had presented a complete catalogue of goods and prices ready to go we would have achieved so much more. We will not make that mistake again. We will be ready and armed for business.”
GFS scooped two awards in the Product Showcase and agreed a distribution deal with the Vagner Corporation, itself a winner of four awards. It is now working with the Czech-based business on five projects.
Ratzonis added that he is happy with the switch of the show to earlier in the year. “June is definitely better for us because we will have time to produce and deliver new orders faster and in time for the new season. Bratislava will also help us find clients in Northern Europe that are impossible for us to find currently.”
GFS have a proven track record which makes it an ideal partner to do business with, says Ratzonis. “Some of the best brands in the world have entrusted us with the exclusive production of various products in their ranges which we have successfully delivered and continue to do so. Our manufacturing processes are carefully monitored to ensure the best possible results. In addition, all our handcrafted goods undergo strict quality control carried out exclusively be senior members of our team.
“What makes GFS unique as a fishing tackle manufacturer is our practical designs backed up by top professionals who communicate with clients in an atmosphere of complete trust. Each product is designed to be aesthetically pleasing while providing the best possible performance to attract the attention of target fish.”
Ratzonis admits that 2024 was a very bad year, due mainly to conflicts in Europe which hampered the transportation of materials to Greece, resulting in sharp price increases. In the US, the market dropped due to business uncertainty caused by the Presidential election. He added: “Now is the time for us to catch up and double our client list by tripling the amount of products we offer for all techniques so that companies can find what they are looking for from GFS.”
