Fly fishing for pike across Europe has become increasingly popular and German tackle supplier, Traun River Products, has reflected that with one of its entries in the Angling International LIVE New Product Showcase.
On the eve of next week’s show in Budapest, the company has unveiled details of its new PIKE fly rod, which is one of three entries from the business alongside the Primaloft Jacket and RAZOR Nipper cutters.
PIKE Fly Rod

The modern-looking medium-fast action rod is ideal for presenting bushy pike flies at a distance using modern pike lines. In addition, the rods have enough backbone to make effective strikes.
The aluminium reel seat is robust and the EVA cork handle non-slip even under the most adverse weather conditions. The rods are offered in line classes #8, #9 and #10 and feature a premium ring guide and ‘super’ hard chrome-plated snake guides. The lace ring is intentionally slightly larger.
Delivered in a rod-reel combination tube made from recycled Cordura nylon materials, it is offered with line classes #8 as a complete unit.
