Toppies targets new export partnerships in Berlin

Share

Swiss predator fishing brand Toppies will use ANGELWELT to meet potential new distributors and industry partners as it prepares for the next stage of its European expansion.

Although the company will not have its own stand at this year’s show, it sees the event as a valuable opportunity to reconnect with existing partners, meet new contacts and attend the EFTTA Summit.

“ANGELWELT is the perfect opportunity to bring people together,” said founding brothers Sven and Robin van den Top (below).“We are looking to meet potential new partners and distributors, but it is about much more than simply doing business. Successful partnerships start with people, mutual trust and understanding each other’s ambitions.”

Toppies is headquartered in Switzerland and currently supplies retailers in Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Switzerland and Benelux are managed directly by its B2B sales team, while further expansion will be pursued through established local distributors.

The company believes it is now ready to grow internationally after building its product development, manufacturing, logistics and regulatory experience steadily rather than expanding too quickly. Its infrastructure includes warehousing in Switzerland and Germany, alongside established production partners.

Lead-free tackle is central to the proposition. Toppies says that, as restrictions on lead and environmental awareness increase, its existing range of tungsten and bismuth products offers retailers a ready-made alternative for modern predator anglers. The portfolio also includes TPE softbaits without PVC or conventional plasticisers.

The brand’s stand-out products in 2026 have included its Tungsten Dart Jig, followed by a new bismuth version. Combined with the Pintius pintail softbait, the range has helped introduce more anglers to darting techniques. Toppies also reported strong early demand for its Black Stork AR rod, which required a restock within a month of launch.

Toppies said physical exhibitions remain important despite the growth of digital marketing. Shows reach anglers who may not be highly active online, while providing the face-to-face contact, product discovery and industry exchange that social media cannot replicate.

The company will be available for meetings during ANGELWELT. Retailers, distributors and industry partners can arrange an appointment via email or its social-media channels.
