Keep EFTTEX a preserve of European firms says show debutant

An award-winning EFTTEX debutant enjoyed a successful first-ever show and admitted it regrets not exhibiting at the European trade show earlier.

The owner of PVA Hydrospol – the world’s largest supplier of eco-friendly PVA mesh – joined the call for the show to be the preserve of European manufacturers.

Business founder and owner Martin Flosnik told Angling International: “Considering this was our first show, it went really well for us. We honestly regret not joining earlier.

“Our main goal was to show up and introduce the company – and in that respect we definitely achieved what we set out to do. Many visitors already knew of our products which made discussions more concrete and straightforward.”

He added that he was impressed by the strength of the European market. “It is full of creative people and innovative manufacturers – and that was clearly visible at EFTTEX. It is the reason why the show should remain primarily a platform for European manufacturers.

“A high presence of Asian exhibitors, in our view, weakens the idea of a European trade fair – many producers from the region are not comfortable sharing the floor with brands that do not represent the same values or industrial base.

“EFTTEX should be a place where European manufacturers gather, present their innovations and strengthen the industry together.”

Flosnik revealed that winning an award – the company was recognized for its 100m Eco Refill – was a ‘great surprise’. “We honestly did not expect it. For us, this recognition confirms that functionality, design and quality are best expressed by simplicity and following our own path.”

He added that it was too early to judge whether any new business would result from the show. “I am confident that many discussions will turn into real partnerships. These things take time.”

Flosnik was impressed by the whole EFTTEX experience. “The organisation was excellent and the EFTTEX team did a magnificent job. The attendance was good, although more customers would have been welcome. We are used to large crowds at consumer shows around the world but understand that EFTTEX has a different focus.”

Flosnik added that his company planned to be at Barcelona for next year’s event. “It is an excellent opportunity for us to present the company and our products and, just as importantly, meet both existing and potential new distributors.”
