What if I said I had a business opportunity for you that washed its own face? If you had a good command of English, you would know exactly what I meant, I’m sure. You would understand that this business opportunity would pay for itself. That it was a risk-free investment. A no-brainer.

But what if your English did not stretch that far? How would I explain it to you with an equally colourful metaphor (because, why not?) but in a way that you would understand it? Well, according to ChatGPT, so forgive me in advance, if you were French I’d tell you that this business opportunity stirs its own pot or possibly that it feeds itself with its own spoon. In Germany they like to say that it turns its own cogs. In Spain, I kid you not, the metaphor is that it runs its own bull through the street.
This opportunity would also stand on its own two feet, cover the price of admission, pay its own dues, ride its own wave and, a personal favourite of mine whether widely used or not, pull the pint and pay for it too.

Is the message getting through? It’s this. I have something for you that absolutely pays for itself. In fact, more than pays for itself. No matter where you are in the world. And I can prove it.
We have set a new date and location in 2025 for the next Angling International LIVE trade show. It will be in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, between June 26th and 28th. There are tackle suppliers around the world right now, some of them your friends, some of them your competitors, that are rubbing their hands at the prospect of the business that will be coming their way in the next year, and all because they turned up on our show floor in September.

Take, for example, the supplier from northern Europe that emailed me three weeks after Angling International LIVE to say that he had doubled the value of his business thanks to a single meeting at the show. Doubled it. “I am not exaggerating,” he wrote.
