PENN launches its lightest and strongest surf rod

Pure Fishing’s iconic PENN brand has launched what it describes as its lightest, strongest and most premium surf rod.

The Prevail APEX is available in stores across Australia now and features premium Fuji K frame guides with SiC inserts and Fuji reel seats. It incorporates PENN’s SLC2 blank construction to handle heavier payloads and provide longer casting.

The hybrid X wrap shrink tube/Winn grip design provides maximum comfort and ergonomics for long casting sessions to make it a ‘seriously premium’ surf rod.

Updated cosmetics feature black and gold accents for a premium, yet classic PENN look and the Fuji K-frame guides ensure tangle-free, long-distance casting.

There are seven spinning models and an overhead model in the eight-rod range and they are up to 25% lighter in comparison to the PENN Prevail II range.
