Shimano gets behind marine debris recycling initiative

Share

Shimano Australia has put its weight behind the ReefClean Rig Recycle programme, which was launched last week at the Australian Fishing Trade Association (AFTA) show.

The programme was developed by Tangaroa Blue, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the removal and prevention of marine debris, to assist the recreational fishing industry in diverting waste from landfill. The new Rig Recycle Tackle Back product will help anglers keep fishing locations clean.

The Rig Recycle and Tackle Back provides fishermen with Australian-based recycling programmes for fishing line, braid, spools and hard tackle packaging, as well as a repair and reuse programme for broken and unwanted fishing gear.

Shimano says it encourages the recreational fishing industry to support an inclusive national recycling programme and help protect fishing for the future.
