Vista Outdoor Foundation, the partner of Vista Outdoor Inc. and its fishing brand, Simms, has donated $17,000 to the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF), the body driving participation in the US.

The money, which has been matched by state and fish wildlife agencies, will go towards the RBFF’s George H.W. Bush Vamos A Pescar Education Fund, a grant programme that engages Hispanic families in fishing and boating activities.

“We are incredibly thankful to Vista Outdoor,” said Dave Chanda, President and CEO of RBFF. “Hispanic participation in fishing has increased by 45 per cent over the past decade, highlighting the importance of continued support to engage and support local Hispanic communities nationwide.”

Diane Bristol, Vice President of Culture & Community for Simms Fishing Products and President of the Vista Outdoor Foundation, presented the cheque to the RBFF during a recent ceremony.

“Having served on the RBFF Board for almost six years, I have seen the fantastic outreach programmes supported by the Vamos A Pescar Education Fund,” said Bristol. “This programme is aligned with Vista Outdoor’s purpose to use the outdoors to bring people together and our purpose at Simms to help people have their best days on the water.”
