Daiwa manager: new warehouse ‘means faster shipping’ to retailers

The Daiwa Corporation has begun shipping out of its new location in Southern California – meaning a faster and more efficient service for its US-based retailers.
The move to the 85,000 square-foot facility in Foothill Range, which is more than double the size of the old site in Cyprus, was made necessary by continued growth.
In addition to distribution, the purpose-built headquarters will be home to Daiwa’s sales and marketing staff, as well as its after sales operation.
Senior Marketing Manager Marc Mills (pictured) said the move was the highlight of the company’s tenth anniversary year. “The old facility was 35,000 square feet and we couldn’t ship out of it quickly enough,” he told Angling International at ICAST.
“It had only one door and it was very tough to get product out on time. The new premises has five doors and allows us to speed up our shipping to dealers.”
Mills also revealed that Daiwa had taken more product to ICAST than ever before. “We introduced 195 new items in Orlando,” he said. “And 30 of those were brand new products. We had a great show.”
