National Fishing Month kicks off in the UK

Share

There is just one day to go before this year’s National Fishing Month (NFM) – run by industry representative body, the Angling Trades Association (ATA), in the UK – gets underway.

The annual participation initiative will be launched tomorrow (Saturday) on the first day of the Game Fair as part of the ATA’s Get Into Fishing initiative at Ragley Hall, Warwickshire.

Brands attending include Shimano, Hardy, Greys, Shakespeare, Daiwa, Reuben Heaton, Eagle Claw, Dinsmores, YETI, Simba Rods and retailer, Gary Evans, while Gone Fishing celebrity, Paul Whitehouse, and River Monster presenter, Jeremy Wade, will also be on site.

National Fishing Month engages new and returning anglers in events all over the country through until September 3. It is the UK’s primary initiative to increase public awareness of angling and encourages every family member to take part in many fishing events.

With support from the Environment Agency and the Canal and River Trust, angling clubs, fisheries and coaches, the aim is to demonstrate that fishing really is for everyone.
