Smith’s Consumer Products, the manufacturer of knives and tools for anglers and other outdoor enthusiasts, has launched Smith’s Sporting Group, a new company created to drive expansion and diversification in outdoors markets.
“Our launch of Smith’s Sporting Group – the new home of Smith’s Consumer Products – sets the stage for new directions and future acquisitions as we strive to support the needs of everyone who works and plays outside,” said Ricky Dukes (pictured), Vice President of Marketing at Smith’s Sporting Group.
“We’re very excited to build on the quality and reputation of Smith’s Consumer Products as we reach into new markets and connect with new groups of enthusiastic consumers.”
Mike Taylor, CEO of Smith’s Consumer Products, said the ‘new vision’ will broaden Smith’s product offering and develop additional consumer markets.
Smith’s dates back to 1886, when it began making sharpening tools in Arkansas using a natural stone found in the state’s Ouachita Mountains.
