Mustad goes direct to trade in Italy


Mustad, a world leader in hook making and a growing influence in other sportfishing tackle, has made two appointments to handle its direct distribution to the trade in Italy.

From the beginning of this month, the Norwegian brand – owner of LIVETARGET and TUF-Line – switched its distribution model in Italy, which is being overseen by Paolo Polimeni (pictured) as Country Manager. Mustad said: “Paolo’s extensive experience with strong, established brands will be crucial for taking the group to the next level in the region.”

Taking up a key role as Northern Italy Area Manager is Fabio Veronese. He brings nearly 30 years of experience and knowledge of the market in the country. Alongside Polimeni, he has represented Mustad in shops for many years.

Polimeni has an impressive career spanning over a decade with Svendsen Sport and Pure Fishing. “His experience in brand promotion, sales management and territory expansion makes him an ideal fit for this pivotal role,” added Mustad. “He will be responsible for driving growth, implementing strategic initiatives and strengthening our position as a leading fishing brand in Italy.”

Veronese has a proven track record of promoting and selling fishing products, including Yamashita, DAM, Taiko and Mustad. “His network, experience and deep fishing knowledge will be a key asset for Mustad as the region transitions to a home market,” said Mustad.
