First it was free beer at EFTTEX… now an Australia brewery has come up with a novel idea to entice lager drinkers.
The XXXX Lure Lager can features a do-it-yourself, cut-out lure designed to catch carp, reports fishingworld.com.au.
The Queensland company says the aim is to help make inroads into the over-population of carp in the Sunshine State’s waterways and preserve the ecosystem.
Carp pose a significant threat to Queeensland’s South West region as they damage vegetation and pose other environmental issues, says Fishing World.
“This special release lager aims to educate the public about the impact of invasive carp on South West Queensland’s waterways and emphases the importance of preserving the health and diversity of our native aquatic ecosystems,” said Chris Allan, Head of Marketing for the beer.
Purchasers of XXXX Lure Lager can scan the can using their mobile devices to gain step-by-step instructions on how to safely cut out and use the lure.
Yesterday, Angling International revealed that every exhibitor and visitor to next month’s EFTTEX show will be entitled to a free beer on day one of the event.
