Popular carp fishing YouTuber and experienced trade figure James Armstrong has provided a sneak peak of the RT7, the new, much-heralded bait boat from Carplounge.
The former Total Carp, Korda and CC Moore man put the flagship model through its paces at the German company’s test lake at Krefeld to see how it compared to his old RT4 – and promptly placed an order.
His verdict? “It is an absolute beast of a boat. The greatest thing for me is the AIC controller. You don’t have to be an expert to handle it. Now anyone can get the full potential from the Raymarine QHD echo sounder and mapping without a learning curve.
“With the RT4 you needed a tablet, tripod and separate Wi-Fi box. With the RT7 the handset is your Wi-Fi box, echo sounder, maps and GPS. It controls everything.
“It’s just the handset and the bait boat, which makes things so much easier. It’s like playing a computer game. I need to get mine built very quickly. It’s an incredible bit of kit.”
