Marcel Ulje, owner of The Dutch Tackle Company, has passed away suddenly at the age of 52.
He was a well-known figure at fishing events in the Netherlands where he tirelessly promoted his PB Products for carp fishing and the Rozemeijer brand for predator. Born in Leiden in July 1970, he leaves a wife and three children.
He spent his entire childhood fishing smaller ditches in Holland for tench, rudd and carp. He turned his hobby into his job when he got the predator fishing bug working for a company distributing Abu Garcia products.
He joined Ultimate Henglersport in 1988 as a sales representative working with brands that included Nash, Korda, Solar, Cygnet Tackle, Gardner, Kryston, Cobra, PB Products, Abu Garcia and Rapala.
Following the demise of Ultimate, Marcel stepped out on his own, developing and selling his own products in cooperation with a team of experienced local anglers.
