Top Rapala VMC executive set to leave company

Frank Wijnands, Marketing and GTM Director North Europe at Rapala VMC, is to leave the company in July.

Wijnands joined the sport fishing industry in 2016 when he came Marketing Officer for Shimano Europe in Eindhoven and spent over two years there. 

He then moved to Rapala as Benelux Sales and Marketing Manager, before graduating to Marketing and GTM Director, leading an eight-strong team, in March 2022.

“While looking back at the wonderful experiences and people I have had the pleasure of working with, I look forward to what the future holds,” said Wijnands.

“All good things must come to an end and it is time for me to move on. I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone at Rapala VMC who made my time there so wonderful. It’s been a fantastic journey.”

Wijnands plans to move to Denmark with his fiancé. “She gave up her life in the Netherlands to join me in Finland, so it is time for me to return the favour,” he added.

But he has not ruled out a return to the fishing industry. “As for my future career, I am not sure what is next. I am looking into various options and opportunities. My passion for the angling industry remains strong and I am open to any offers that may arise. There are a lot of strong fishing brands in Denmark.”
