Share

Chris Russell, formerly of Eagle Claw, Shimano and Plano Synergy, is the new Vice President, General Manager of Duckett Fishing. He replaces Larry Rencken who is retiring in April after five years in the role.

“We are very fortunate to recruit Chris for this position,” said Boyd Duckett, President of the Alabama company and a former Bassmaster Classic winner. “He brings years of experience and fits the Duckett Fishing culture perfectly.

“And I can’t thank Larry enough for the time, energy and wisdom he brought to our company. He was instrumental in taking us from where we were five years ago to where we are today. He leaves us with a strong foundation to build on.”

Russell was Director of Marketing and Product Development at Eagle Claw for 12 years before moving to Shimano as Senior Marketing Manager. Four years later he became Marketing Director Fishing at Pure Fishing brand Plano, where he stayed another four years before being appointed VP of Marketing at Marolina Outdoor, his last stop prior to joining Duckett.

Located in Guntersville, Duckett Fishing was founded in 2010 and builds premium rods, reels, lures and accessories. Boyd Duckett won the Classic in 2007 and is co-founder of Major League Fishing (MLF).
