Rapala VMC Corporation is to part company with its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Jan-Elof Cavander – just three months after announcing the departure of CEO Nicolas Warchalowski.
In an announcement this morning, current Board Chairman and CEO Louis d’Alançon said that Cavander will leave his position to take up new challenges outside of Rapala. His last day at the company will be June 21st, 2023.
Cavander has been at Rapala for almost 13 years, serving as CFO since June 2017. Before that he was Senior VP Treasury and Finance, Corporate Planning and IT.
“I want to thank Jan-Elof for the strong development of the finance function under his leadership and for building a strong culture in the global finance team. I wish him all the best in his new endeavours,” said d’Alançon.
Previous CEO Warchalowski left Rapala in November last year by ‘mutual agreement’ after little more than two and a half years in the role; d’Alançon became CEO in an acting capacity until a new CEO could be found, although the ‘acting’ prefix did not appear on the recent full year report or on the Cavander announcement.
Rapala’s first-half sales figures for 2022 showed a 7% year-on-year decline, while its full-year sales and profits, announced two weeks ago, fell by 7% and 53% respectively.
