Australian brand looking to EFTTEX to extend European presence

Share

Fast growing and ambitious Australian saltwater brand Ocean’s Legacy will be making its debut at EFTTEX.

The brand, which was formed in 2017, has already looked at the US market with appearances at ICAST – the world’s largest fishing tackle trade show – and is now targeting Europe at the event in the Hungarian capital of Budapest in June.

The company’s owner, Alan Koh, told Angling International: “We are an established angling and outdoors brand which continues to grow inside and outside Australia and believe that our products are applicable to the European arena.

“We are looking for distributors who are passionate about the sport and our brand.”

Koh (pictured) added that dealing with Ocean’s Legacy offers an opportunity to work with an exciting and expanding business. “We are proven in Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East and USA to have grown rapidly and have been able to gain the attention of both sports fishermen and retailers. Feedback from the fishing community has been extremely positive with trophy species landed on our gear.

“We have a clear vision for our brand and its product development in the years ahead. Our product offering is always original and unique and cannot be found on the market from other brands. We also have a global retailing pricing policy which allows retailers and distributors to be competitive in their own markets.

“Our ambition for Ocean’s Legacy is to strengthen our ethos as a unique and boutique brand that has a global presence. In Australia we are expanding into the big box stores and are in the process of opening Ocean’s Legacy USA Inc. to support growing demand in the region.

“In the next three to four years we have a vision to grow Ocean’s Legacy focus not only on specialised fishing tackle, but expand into an outdoors brand globally.

Koh added that Ocean’s Legacy already has a presence in Europe with dealers in Bulgaria, Slovenia, Spain, Malta and a distributor in Italy, but is looking to extend that with the UK, France, Germany and Greece among its priority targets.

“We are looking forward to our first trip to EFTTEX and meeting like-minded individuals. Our goal is to promote our brand and bring Ocean’s Legacy to the EU market.”

The company’s main focus is saltwater fishing rods, but it also has a line-up of hard body lures, jigs and terminal tackle for slow pitch jigging, vertical jigging and topwater casting.

At EFTTEX it will be showing off for the first time a minnow for saltwater applications, a popper for topwater GT and tuna and a new jig.
