EFTTEX: New ‘affordable’ prices confirmed by organisers for show in Budapest

Share

The team behind the revival of EFTTEX has announced an innovative three-pronged plan to entice manufacturers, visitors and non-exhibitors to this year’s event in Budapest.

The plan includes: free entrance to European buyers; an entry-level booth price for European exhibitors for just €2,190; and an option to enter the Best New Product Awards without being an exhibitor.

Istvan Pal, one of the three EFTTA Board members behind the resurrection of EFTTEX – and an exhibitor at the show for 22 years with his company, Energofish – told Angling International: “We want to make this year’s EFTTEX affordable and appealing to all parties. As a long-time exhibitor, I have suffered through the high cost of having a booth at EFTTEX and for the last decade have tried to convince the organiser to offer a more cost-friendly package for European companies to enable them to compete against companies from Asia.

“Brands should be excited by the starter package, which offers them a 30% saving on a similar sized booth at the last EFTTEX in 2019. Alongside this, companies will also want assurances about visitor numbers. That is why entrance to EFTTEX 2023 will be free for all visitors from across Europe. We want to bring a good number of buyers to the show and will be starting a strong marketing campaign very soon to make them aware of the benefits of freeing up a few days to make the journey to Budapest.”

There is also an incentive for brands that are not exhibiting at EFTTEX but are launching products into the European market. They too can have a presence at the show, says Pal, because they will be eligible to enter the New Product Awards at a cost of €500 for their first entry and €250 for each additional one. “We can offer them great exposure by having their entries and videos on show and displayed online. Grouped by fishing styles, there are categories for every product and we will ensure that the launches are highlighted both to the trade and also anglers across Europe.”

Pal (below) added that registration is now open and that the Floorplan will go live on January 15th, giving priority to companies that signed up for EFTTEX 2022 before its postponement. Following that, it will be conducted on a first-come-first-served basis.

Despite reaching out to anglers via its Anglers’ Choice Awards this year, Pal said that there were no plans to allow consumers to the show. “EFTTEX is a trade show. We are not planning to bring anglers to the HUNGEXPO, but we won’t miss the opportunity to ensure anglers across Europe know all about the new products launched at EFTTEX. We plan to invite bloggers, vloggers and influencers to Budapest so that they know all about the show and new product launches.”

Pal added that now there is no requirement to be a member of EFTTA to exhibit, the show organiser has been able to make it cheaper for most exhibitors. However, he reiterated his support of EFTTA’s valuable lobbying for recreational fishing and urged all companies within the industry to support its activities by becoming a member.
