St. Croix continues to build fly fishing team

Share

St. Croix has hired Zack Dalton as it continues to assemble a team to grow its fly fishing business.

Dalton has spent 23 years in the fly fishing market and was once a competitor of St. Croix when he worked for the Far Bank Enterprises brands, RIO Products and Sage.

As Fly Fishing Director of Sales at St. Croix, he will work closely with recently-appointed Fly Fishing Brand Manager Tom Larimer to build a strong retailer network.

“Zack reported to me at my own time at Far Bank,” said St. Croix CEO Scott Forristall, who himself has deep roots in the fly fishing sector. “He is a student of fly fishing – the sport and the industry.

“He was instrumental in the company’s success in sales, but also very involved and skilled in product development. He had personal relationships with almost everyone in the business and was the best sales manager in the fly fishing industry at that time. I believe he still is.”

Dalton, 44, who left Far Bank a year ago, said that bringing new products to market that help fly anglers experience greater success is what motivated him to join the team that St. Croix is building to re-establish its fly fishing brand.

Dalton begin his new role this week. He will work closely with the company’s Vice President of Sales, Steve Self, who said: “Zack’s skills, knowledge and personality […] make him the best choice for this critical new position. He’s built trusted relationships by being a good partner and advocate for both anglers and the trade.”
