Ugo Claudio Matteoli, the President of FIPSAS – the body that represents Italy’s anglers – is set to receive the highest sporting honour in the country.
Matteoli, who is also head of the Confédération Internationale de la Pêche Sportive (CIPS) and FIPSed Fédération Internationale de la Pêche Sportive en Eau (FIPSed), will be awarded the Golden Collar by CONI, the Italian Olympic Commitee, in recognition of his long and illustrious career not only for recreational fishing but for sport in the country.
He will be honoured in a ceremony later this month. “It will be a very special day for President Matteoli, who has received awards and merits at both national and international level in recognition of his work.” said FIPSAS. “An honour of such high level prestige says a lot about his tireless commitment and the results achieved within his beloved FIPSAS.”
