EFTTEX Awards: Shimano leads the way as big guns join the fray

Shimano – one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fishing tackle – is leading the way with its backing of the EFTTEX New Product Awards.
The Japanese giant has already revealed its six entries in the competition. And, in a further boost for the first-ever digital event, two other fishing powerhouses, Pure Fishing, including its recently acquired Svendsen Sport brand, and Rapala VMC Corporation have announced their intention to take part.
A delighted Istvan Pal – one of the men behind the awards – told Angling International: “Big guns joining the party is great news. From the outset I was determined to ensure that the competition was representative of the whole tackle trade and attracted companies both large and small.
“The involvement of the likes of Pure Fishing, Svendsen, Rapala VMC and Shimano adds an extra gloss and authority to the awards. It underlines the fact it is a serious event that is recognised by the industry as a whole. The competition has been ramped up a notch with the participation of these household names. All four companies have a proud and successful record in the New Product Awards and will be determined to build on that in this year’s competition.”
Pal added that there is still time for companies to enter the new-look New Product Awards, but they need to move fast – the deadline is Saturday (October 15th).
