Berkley Slobberknocker wins first-ever ICAST Anglers’ Choice award

Pure Fishing brand Berkley is the first-ever winner of the ICAST Anglers’ Choice Award for the Slobberknocker lure.

The bait – highlighted by Angling International as a stand-out product in its ICAST preview coverage – won the Best Freshwater Hard Bait category in the New Product Showcase at the show in July.

It was one of 30 category winners at the world’s largest fishing tackle trade show that were in contention for the prestigious nomination.

Harlan Kent, CEO of Pure Fishing, said: “We were extremely honoured to win an award at ICAST for the Slobberknocker and to now have added an award voted upon by North American anglers is all the more special to us.

“When the Berkley team set out working on the Slobberknocker they were trying to make the best bladed jig possible. There was a tremendous amount of science that went into the development as well as well as rigourous laboratory and field testing with the objective of creating a lure that flat-out just catches more fish. We could not be more proud of the recognition.
