Pure Fishing Australia conservation stalwart Phillip Coles has been inducted into the country’s angling Hall of Fame.

Coles (pictured) was given the honour at the Australian Fishing Trade Association (AFTA) show which took place last month on the Gold Coast.

“Phil was a passionate leader on the wholesale side of AFTA for many years, serving as a Director on the Board for more than ten years, dedicating his time to fiercely protecting fishing’s future,” said ATFA.

At the AFTA Annual General Meeting – held on the set-up day of the show – three new members were voted onto a new-look Board of Directors. The newcomers are: Greg Seeto (Daiwa Australia), Jarrod Day (Compleat Angler) and Cameron Jackson (BCF).

They join President Michael Starkey (Frogley’s Offshore), Independent Chair Bob Baldwin, Vice President Billy Parsons (Gillies), Treasurer/Secretary Ben Scales (Jarvis Walker), Stephen Morgan (Fishing Monthly Group), Alicia Bolitho (Tackle World Port Lincoln) and Kord Luckus (L. Wilson & Co).
