ICAST reaches out to anglers with new award


ICAST, already the industry’s biggest trade show, is extending its reach to consumers by launching the Anglers’ Choice Award.

The show currently runs the New Product Showcase Awards each year, voted for during the event by attending retailers and media. Now it is inviting anglers worldwide to pick their favourite from the products that topped the 30 categories at last month’s awards.

“This year we have decided to invite anglers everywhere to choose their ‘best of the best’ by introducing the Anglers’ Choice Best of Show Award,” said Blake Swango, Trade Show and Membership VP for ICAST’s organiser, the American Sportfishing Association (ASA).

Consumer voting opens on August 21 and closes on August 27. Voting will be online through the ICAST website and there will be one vote per email address.

The ICAST 2022 Best of Category winners can be seen on the ICAST New Product Showcase page.

Pure Fishing VP Travis Owens, who is also Trade Show Committee Chairman at the ASA, said: “ICAST and the ASA will use all their social media channels to get the word out about this exciting new award. My company will do the same and I ask all ASA members to promote this exciting new event.”
