One of the world’s best known clothing brands has made its first appearance at ICAST, showcasing off its recently launched range of apparel for the angler.
Global jeans giant Wrangler showed off the Wrangler Angler Collection – an extension of its successful All Terrain Gear (ATG) range – following its launch in May.
Kristen Rapp Schneider, Merchandising Outdoor for parent company Kontour Brands, told Rob Carter, Angling International owner, that the move into fishing was a natural extension for its lifestyle brand. “Our aim is to get people to enjoy the outdoors, and fishermen are core to the outside world.
“The fishing market is one that we have had our eye on and we have introduced a range of clothing that builds on our experience on the needs of those who enjoy the outdoors.”
She added that attending ICAST was an opportunity for Wrangler to test reaction from the trade and build brand awareness. “We want to make sure that we have got it right and ensure we have got the features to deliver what the angler needs. Early reaction has been positive.”
