Hooks and terminal tackle manufacturer Gamakatsu has entered the knife market and will introduce the new products at ICAST this week.
The company’s Everyday Carry Knives (EDC) come in four different sizes of folding knife developed to tackle any task.
The blades are made from high-end D2 steel with frame-lock style handles and locking mechanisms. The frame-lock closure system makes it possible to open and close the knives with one hand using a flipper mechanism.
In addition to size, the key differences are the handle materials and blade styles. The GMKT1 features a 3.25-inch Drop Point blade with a plain edge, Stonewash finish and a Blackwash stainless steel handle. The GMKT2 EDC model has a 2.75-inch Drop Point blade, with a two-toned satin finish and a plain edge. The handle material is stainless steel with an attractive Bluewash finish.
The two larger bladed EDC knives have upgraded handles. GMKT3, the largest of the four, has a 3.625-inch Stonewash finish, and partially serrated blade. It features a G10 front handle scale and Stonewash steel handle. The GMKT4 is a 3.5-inch Tanto-style blade in Black Oxide and with a plain edge. It has a G10/Carbon Fibre Overlay and Black Oxide steel handle.
