Rapala VMC in the US has recruited new Products Manager, Kyle Wood, from the Major Fishing League (MLF), where he was Senior Manager of Digital Production.
In his new role, Wood will manage selected Rapala and Storm hard baits and Williamson lures as well as helping grow the company’s relationship with bass anglers.
Wood will call on his 11 years of experience with MLF and FLW tours, for which he has developed a wide range of content.
“We are investing in the future of Rapala by adding strong talent like Kyle to our team,” said Greg Lorenz, Director of Product Development for Rapala VMC. “His experience in covering bass fishing and his passion and knowledge of fishing for other species, makes him a great fit for managing our respected brand projects.”
Wood said he had grown up using Rapala lures. “I’ve loved looking for Rapala billboards along the highway and watching the Lindners on TV fishing with Rapala lures,” he added. “This is a true dream-come-true job for me.”
Wood is from Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He competed in the state’s tournament trail and also in collegiate bass tournaments. He was also President of the Iowa State Fishing Club.
